INTRODUCTION
SRI KANDA PARVATHINATHA THEJINIVANA NAYAKA PRAY - LORD GRANT ME WISDOM, LIFE, WEALTH & STRENGTH
Of the several holy and sacred places in India, Thiruveezhimizhalai is the one situated in Kodavas: Taluk, Tiruvarur District. It was here Maha Vishnu got his Chakra and brought the Sacred Vtmanam JO the worship of Lord Siva. Parvathi was born as the child of Sage Kathyayana and named Kathyayani here. Lord Siva married her llama, Lord of death was conquered on behalf of Swethakethu. Badravalli, wife of Pururuva Chakravarthi, Sibi Chakravarthi and a Magada King worshipped here and attained Mukthi. Thirugnanasambandar, Thirunavukkarasar and Sundarar rendered Thevaram are conducted during the Brahmothsavam. Thirugnanasambandar and Thirunavukkarasar got Padikkasu to eradicate famine. Diseases like Leprosy etc. disappear by bathing in the holy tank and worshipping the Lord.
It is a firm belief that unmarried girls soon get married by witnessing, the Thirukkalyana Uthsaram and worshipping Sri Kathyayani with her Lord'.
With the blessings of His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Sankaracharya Swamigal, Vedaparayana, Thirukkalyana, Brahmin Feeding etc., Brahmothsavam commence .from Manmatha Year Chithirai 101' (23-04-2015) Thursday and last till Manmatha Year Chithirai 19" (02-05-2015) Saturday and is celebrated with the help of Public Donation. 28-04-2015 Tuesday - Thirukkalyana Uthsavam.
SIGNIFICANCE OF THIS HOLY KSHETHRA
It is stated that Lord Siva had distributed, food everyday to the devotees sitting in a row. .for about three miles.
Saint Gnanasantbandar has sung in praise of this daily events in 26 stanzas. Even the parrot was able to recite Vedic Hymns in the Holy Temple. Saint Sambandar had his stay in this temple till his last day without going back to Sirkali, his native place.
It is noteworthy that His Holiness Sri Kanchi Periaval conducted Sama Veda Parayanam everyday here under his personal supervision. Women never attained widowhood in this Kshethra. Young girls get married at the very thought of Sri Mappillai Swamy. Brahmins who are forbidden to eat Soraikkai anywhere are permitted to eat that vegetable only in this holy place.
